Brockton Parks & Recreation department is bringing D.J. Carroll and company to town to provide two specialty day camps and a Community Magic show, during the holidays at the Walkerton Community Centre.
The ‘Secrets of Magic’ will be shared on Tuesday Jan 3. Youth between the ages of seven and 13 will learn tricks that will dazzle their family and friends! DJ has been teaching and performing magic for over 20 years and has been a feature performer in the Waterloo Busker Festival, Simcoe Artfest as well as hosting and competing in the Ontario Battle of the Magicians competition 2009.
Add Drama Day Thursday, Jan 5 onto your schedule of things to do during the Christmas break. With 11 years as a drama teacher, a Performer of the year award winner for KW Arts Award 2002 & Shakespearian Teacher of the Year 2010 & 2011 from the National Shakespeare Festival —DJ Carroll lives theatre! Kids will be learning about tableau, character work, masks, movement and expect to become a wide assortment of fun characters throughout the day!
The each day will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and the fee is $35 per day per participant.

The Little Magic Shop Show features Tyler & Candace, who try to help their Uncle DeeJ win a special talent show so they can win the first prize money to save the Magic Shop.
This show is full of comedy, audience interaction and of course MAGIC. Admission is $3 per person or $10 per family. It runs Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at the Walkerton Community Centre.
Once again this year there will be a New Year’s Eve family skating party.
This community celebration on Friday, Dec 31 will run from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Walkerton Community Centre.
