On Saturday Feb. 13, the Walkerton Special Olympic Speedskating team travelled to Paisley for their Regional Speedskating competition and saw some impressive results. Everyone worked hard, and had a great day.
The results are as follows: Ben Caldecott:  111m-3rd, 222m-4th, 333m-3rd, 500m-1st; Helen Clancy:  111m-1st, 222m-1st, 333m-2nd, 500m1st; Heather Munro:  333m-1st, 500m-1st, 777m-1st, 1500m-1st; Harvey Potts: 111m-1st, 222m-1st, 333m-1st, 500m-1st; Marissa Schnurr: 333m-2nd, 500m-1st, 777m-1st, 1500m-1st; Nicklas Vance: 111m-2nd, 222m-3rd, 333m-2nd;Kerstin VanRichter: 111m-1st, 222m-1st, 333m-1st.
This was a qualifying year for next year’s Provincial Games which will be held in Thunder Bay, February 2011. The athletes will not know if they have qualified for this event for several weeks.
